True story...

I started a series of bird drawings  in 2024 in my nature journal. I showed them to a friend. 

All she could say was: "Pretty, but Why?" and "What are you going to do with them?? " Ugh!

My friend is a kind person. She did not intend her query to be unkind. She wondered why I put so much effort into my drawings, and they only lived inside my journal? The solution? My birds flew off the page and onto notecards and became gifts, I donate to causes I felt compelled to support and the notecards are also available for purchase to help fund my volunteer work.

Here's the first 8 birds... hopefully as time goes by I'll create more. Each bird I observed in nature and was inspired to draw, I used a reference photo; later I researched and learned more about each bird, creating a full journal page (example).. Each of the 8 bird's journal pages are posted as seperate blog posts (2024 posts). To create note cards, scanned in and removed the text info. Voila.
